About the Add Watermark to Image

Add Watermark to Image stamps your name, website or logo on photos before you share them. Choose text or a logo, place it in one of nine positions or tile it across the whole picture, and set its size, opacity and angle. Size is relative to each photo, so a batch of portrait and landscape shots all get a mark of the same proportion, and a live preview shows the result before you download.

Images are processed in your browser with its built-in codecs, so your photos and screenshots are never uploaded.

How to use the Add Watermark to Image

  1. Drop one or more photos onto the page.
  2. Type the watermark text (or choose a logo, ideally a transparent PNG) and pick a position or Tile across.
  3. Adjust the size, opacity, rotation and margin while watching the preview.
  4. Download each photo, or all of them at once.

Common mistakes

  • A watermark that hides the subject. A large, opaque mark over a face or product makes the photo useless to show. Keep opacity around 30–60% and place it where it protects without covering the point of the picture.
  • White text on a bright sky. A single colour disappears on parts of a photo. Keep the contrast outline on, or pick a colour that differs from the area under the mark.
  • Saving watermarked JPEGs again and again. Each JPEG save loses a little quality. Watermark from the original file, not from an already compressed copy.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The watermark is drawn by your browser on a canvas, and the files never leave your device. That also makes it fast for large batches.

Which watermark is hardest to remove?

A semi-transparent mark tiled across the whole image, over detailed areas, is much harder to crop or retouch than a small logo in a corner. A corner mark is less distracting but can be cropped off.

Can I use Hindi or other non-Latin text?

Yes. The text is drawn with your device's fonts, so Hindi, Tamil, Arabic, Chinese and other scripts work as long as your system can display them.
