JSON Validator
Validate JSON syntax and pinpoint errors by line and column. Shows structure statistics for valid documents.
About the JSON Validator
The JSON Validator checks JSON against the standard and points to the exact line and column of the first error. For valid documents it summarises the structure: objects, arrays, keys and depth.
Everything runs in your browser, so your input is never uploaded to a server.
How to use the JSON Validator
- Paste JSON or open a file.
- Read the result: a green confirmation with statistics, or the error location.
- Fix the reported problem and validate again.
Frequently asked questions
Does it validate against a JSON Schema?
No, it checks syntax (well-formedness) only. Valid syntax is the first requirement for any schema check.
Are comments or trailing commas allowed?
No. Standard JSON allows neither; formats like JSON5 do, but most parsers reject them.
