Unix Timestamp Converter
Convert Unix epoch timestamps (seconds or milliseconds) to dates and back, in any time zone.
About the Unix Timestamp Converter
Unix timestamps count seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC. The Unix Timestamp Converter turns timestamps in seconds, milliseconds or microseconds into readable dates in any time zone, and dates back into timestamps.
Times come from your browser’s built-in IANA time zone database, so daylight saving rules are always current.
How to use the Unix Timestamp Converter
- Paste a timestamp; the unit is detected from its length.
- Choose a display time zone.
- Or enter a date and time to get its timestamp, and copy the value you need.
Frequently asked questions
Seconds or milliseconds?
Unix and most databases use seconds (10 digits today); JavaScript and many APIs use milliseconds (13 digits).
What is the year 2038 problem?
Signed 32-bit timestamps overflow on 19 January 2038. 64-bit timestamps, used by modern systems, do not have this limit.
