About the Backlink Audit Tool

The Backlink Audit Tool reviews the links Google itself reports for your site. Export the external links from Search Console's Links report (Latest links, More sample links or Top linking sites) and drop the file here: the tool groups them by linking site, counts the links, and flags patterns worth a human look, such as spam keywords or cheap spam TLDs in the domain, machine-looking names, sitewide links and auto-generated "site info" pages. Choose the sites you want to disavow and download a ready disavow file.

Your Search Console export is read in your browser and never uploaded. The disavow file is created on your device.

How to use the Backlink Audit Tool

  1. In Search Console open Links, then Export external links → Latest links (and optionally Top linking sites).
  2. Drop the ZIP or CSV files here; they are read in your browser.
  3. Filter by "Worth a look" and check each site yourself before judging it.
  4. Only if you find links you or someone else built to manipulate rankings, tick them and download the disavow file for Google's disavow tool.

Frequently asked questions

Should I disavow spammy backlinks?

Usually not. Google says it ignores most spammy links automatically. Disavow only links you (or an SEO you paid) built or bought, or when Search Console shows a manual action for unnatural links. Disavowing good links can remove their value.

Why does Search Console show fewer links than other tools?

Search Console exports a sample (up to about 100,000 rows) of the links Google knows and counts. Paid tools crawl the web themselves and also list links Google ignores.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The export is read and analysed in your browser, and the disavow file is created on your device.
