About the SEO Content Editor
The SEO Content Editor scores an article while you write. Give it the target keyword, title and meta description, paste or write the text (Markdown, HTML or plain text), and it checks the keyword in the title, H1, first 100 words, a subheading and the description, keyword density, length, number of sections, readability (Flesch reading ease), long sentences and links. Load the questions people search for the keyword and it ticks off each one your text already answers.
Your article is scored in your browser and never uploaded. Only "Get questions to cover" sends the keyword to our server, which asks Google and Bing autocomplete.
How to use the SEO Content Editor
- Enter the target keyword, then the title tag and meta description.
- Paste your draft or write in the editor; the score updates as you type.
- Press "Get questions to cover" to load real searches and answer the ones still unticked.
- Fix the red and amber checks, then copy the text back into your CMS.
Works well with the SEO Content Editor
- Blog Post Outline Generator: plan the sections before you write.
- SERP Preview Tool: preview the title and description in Google.
- Word & Character Counter: count words, characters and reading time.
Frequently asked questions
What keyword density is best?
There is no magic number. Use the keyword where it reads naturally: in the title, the main heading, the opening and a subheading. Above about 3% text starts to read as keyword stuffing, which hurts more than it helps.
Is a higher score a guarantee of ranking?
No. The score checks on-page basics. Rankings also depend on how well the page answers the search compared with the pages already ranking, and on links and site reputation.
Is my article uploaded?
No. Scoring runs in your browser. Only the "Get questions" button sends the keyword (not your text) to our server for autocomplete suggestions.
