About the User Agent Parser

User Agent Parser breaks a User-Agent string into browser and version, rendering engine, operating system and device type, and recognises crawlers such as Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot and ClaudeBot as well as tools like curl. Your own browser's user agent and Client Hints are shown first; paste a list from server logs to parse hundreds of lines at once.

Everything runs in your browser, so your input is never uploaded to a server.

How to use the User Agent Parser

  1. See your own user agent, or paste another one (or one per line from a log).
  2. Read the browser, engine, operating system, device and bot fields.
  3. Check the notes for frozen or reduced values.
  4. For a list, copy the table as CSV.

Frequently asked questions

What is my user agent?

It is filled in when the page opens: the string your browser sends with every request. Below it, Client Hints from Chromium browsers show the platform version, which tells Windows 10 and 11 apart.

Why does Chrome show version 130.0.0.0 and Android "K"?

Chrome sends a reduced user agent: only the major version is real, the Android version is fixed at 10 and the phone model is replaced by "K", to make fingerprinting harder. Sites that need details request Client Hints instead.

Can I trust a Googlebot user agent?

No, anyone can send it. Confirm a real Googlebot by a reverse DNS lookup of the IP (it ends in googlebot.com or google.com) or against Google's published IP ranges.

Why does Chrome on iPhone say WebKit?

Apple requires browsers on iOS and iPadOS to use its WebKit engine (since iOS 17.4, only in the EU may they ship their own), so Chrome, Firefox and Edge there render like Safari.
